It’s unusual to find a national park with public hot springs, which is what makes Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort so special. If you find yourself in Olympic National Park, the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort in the park’s northern forest is a good place to stay. It has many natural hot mineral pools where you may relax and unwind, as well as hiking routes that lead directly into the verdant Sol Duc Valley.

The resort has 32 cabins that hold up to four people and 17 RV sites, as well as a spa, a restaurant, a gift shop, and a small grocery store. It’s open from late March to late October, but check the website or contact ahead to confirm precise hours. You can pay your park admission fee at the resort if the park entrance fee station is closed.

If you’ve been out all day in the rain or just want to massage your muscles after a tough climb, the hot springs might be a pleasant relief. Now at resort, there are three natural mineral hot springs and one freshwater pool. The little mineral wading pool is 6-8 feet deep and around 99 degrees Fahrenheit. The medium-sized mineral pool is 3 feet deep and maintains a constant temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The larger mineral fountain pool is 3 feet deep and maintains a temperature of 101 degrees Fahrenheit. It is handicapped accessible. Finally, the freshwater pool, which is also wheelchair bound accessible and 3 feet deep, has a variable temperature that can range from 50 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the season.
